Service meets quality
Scheuch has installed a SEPAS-Plus extraction plant in a new extension for Katzbeck Fenster GmbH. The energy-saving system has an extraction output of 60,000 Bm3/h and is equipped with a LIGNO pulse filter with a bunker for demand-based discharge. A medium-pressure conveyor loop was added to an existing silo with a cyclone separator for transporting material.
The SEPAS-Plus extraction system is highly efficient in terms of the energy it uses. The system can be adjusted depending on fluctuating machine workloads and, as result, is especially energy efficient. The patented activation air system enables dust and chipboard to be extracted effectively.
Multiple machines for manufacturing windows and doors are connected to the new SEPAS system. The flexible single-pipe system means that conversions and subsequent expansions to the machinery can be carried out easily.
“SEPAS-Plus is an efficient and flexible solution for extracting dust and chipboard. The system can be adjusted precisely according to customer requirements and optimised as far as energy consumption is concerned,” explains Alois Burgstaller, General Manager of the Wood Processing Industry division at Scheuch GmbH.
Fire & explosion protection
In addition to the flexible extraction system, the well-engineered safety concepts designed by the air and environmental engineering experts were a deciding factor when it came to selecting Scheuch. Scheuch has implemented the BRANA 120 and ROWEK 65 concepts for fire and explosion protection. These also mean that filter plants can be installed in a practical manner at a distance of 1m from the hall wall when there is restricted space and guarantee that fire cannot spread by more than five metres in an emergency. A spark extinguisher was also installed.
The new extraction plant at Katzbeck was commissioned in the middle of March 2013 and initial feedback has been consistently positive. The system runs perfectly and the window and door manufacturer is very satisfied with the extraction output.
Katzbeck sees itself as a manufacturer of premium goods and places great value on quality. The company based in Burgenland has found a strong partner in Scheuch as they are able to implement this high demand for quality in the new production hall. The SEPAS-Plus extraction system ensures a high level of operational safety and energy consumption that is adapted to the workload.
