Scheuch receives the workplace health promotion seal of approval once again
Minister of Health Alois Stöger presented the BGF certificate to this top business, marking yet more recognition for its significant commitment to workplace health promotion following its 2011-2013 certification. The jury was particularly keen to emphasise the comprehensiveness of the programme, which covers all areas of health.
Fit & active
With the goal of maintaining a healthy working environment, family-operated company Scheuch has set up a comprehensive health programme entitled “g‘sund & aktiv – a phrase translating to “Fit & active”. Supporting this initiative are six pillars: movement, nutrition, care and prevention, fit minds, cooperation, and environment and safety – and within each of these, the company has put a whole range of health promotion measures in place. From days where employees are encouraged to eat nothing but fruit, to outings (like skiing days and excursions), sports activities (such as climbing and gymnastics exercises that focus on the spinal area), workshops, talks (on subjects including nutrition) and physiotherapy, everything is designed to promote employee health using a preventative approach, helping them to feel fit and well as they tackle the working day.
“As an eco-business, sustainability and social responsibility are high on our agenda. With our “Fit & active” health programme, we hope to further demonstrate our commitment to these issues and promote the health of our employees. We want to give them a healthy place to work and underline their status as partners without whom it would be impossible for the business to achieve success,” explains Stefan Scheuch, Managing Director of Scheuch GmbH.
BGF Seal of Approval
Scheuch was awarded the Workplace Health Promotion Seal of Approval for the ninth time on 5th March, 2014. 37 businesses were able to celebrate being awarded this for their BGF projects. In total, they have created 19,000 healthier jobs. Now 112 companies from Upper Austria have been awarded this seal of approval which together represent more than 66,000 healthier jobs.
The BGF Seal of Approval is awarded by the Austrian Network for Workplace Health Promotion (Österreichisches Netzwerk Betriebliche Gesundheitsförderung) and receives support from the Healthy Austria Fund (FGÖ).
