Scheuch GmbH switches to solar power

The installation of a photovoltaic plant at the Aurolzmünster site in December 2014 was therefore a logical step towards taking responsibility for the environment by using renewable energy in the region. The solar plant, which was installed on the roof of the company headquarters, now covers more than half of the company’s energy needs.

Apart from their otherwise well-known product portfolio for air purification, Scheuch GmbH is playing an active role in improving environmental protection and sustainability with the installation of the solar plant: “A photovoltaic plant with a total module area of 2950 m² has been at work on the roof of the office building and on a section of the production halls since December of last year. This plant supplies up to 441,000 kWh of solar power every year, which can cover around half of our total energy needs,” explains DI Stefan Scheuch, Managing Director of Scheuch GmbH.

In purely mathematical terms, if we were to apply this technology to private residences, the solar energy generated could power on average around 2000 households per year. “The power generated perfectly matches the consumption profile of our facility, so we can use 100% of the solar power,” explains Stefan Scheuch further. With the photovoltaic plant, consisting of over 1800 solar modules, approx. 390 tonnes of CO2 can be saved each year.
