final apprenticeship examination passed: Eight newly qualified specialists at Scheuch

“We’d like to congratulate our newly qualified staff on passing their final apprenticeship examinations and are all very proud of their excellent performances. We wish them just as much success as they continue along their career paths,” stated Stefan Scheuch, Managing Director of Scheuch GmbH.

State-of-the-art training

Whether as an electrical systems engineer, mechanical engineer, sheet metal engineer or as a draughtsman, the new qualified staff enjoyed extensive training at Scheuch’s in-house training centre in Aurolzmünster, Upper Austria. The training programme also offered additional courses covering health care, project management, the basics of calculation, people skills, and professional development and training, such as learning how to drive a fork-lift truck or how to work with a PLC.

“As instructors, we aim to train the apprentices to become highly qualified specialists in their fields and to prepare them as well as possible for their careers so as to secure them the best possible prospects for the future. We especially encourage their personal development using innovative training concepts and special training programmes,” explains Rudolf Sanladerer, Head of the Scheuch GmbH training centre.

Apprentices can also take courses that enable them to obtain their Matura (the Austrian qualification required for university entrance) or that include a period abroad working with an international company.

Skilled trades with good prospects for the future

Electrical engineering – systems and operating technology, metal engineering – metal construction and sheet metal engineering, metal engineering – mechanical engineering and draughtsmanship are the four skilled technical trades for which Scheuch currently offers training. There are currently 50 apprentices, 17 of whom are girls, completing their training with Scheuch, each one lasting 3.5 years on average.

The chances of being taken on as air and environmental engineering specialists after having completed the apprenticeships are very high if the apprentices perform well and there are also opportunities to progress to the top management levels.

“Looking back I can say that I really enjoyed my time as an apprentice at Scheuch, as I learned a lot and I loved working as a draughtsman. Plus, I have nice, helpful colleagues who support me. It’s enabled me to realise my professional aspirations and I’ve never regretted my decision,” explains Florian Friedl, a newly qualified draughtsman at Scheuch GmbH, who adds, “Once I’ve done my alternative civilian service I’d like to train further and stay with the company.”
