SABA - BIOSCRUBBER
LANGBOARD, GEORGIA (USA)
After inspecting some of its facilities, the company Langboard reached the conclusion that they had found a proven, cost-effective bioscrubber for meeting MACT (Maximum Achievable Control Technology) requirements with much less space needed than in case of a biofilter system.
Langboard MDF operates a press line with fibres supplied by three directly heated MDF flash tube dryers. Not only is the dryer exhaust gas purified, but the press exhaust gas also undergoes final treatment in a SABA bioscrubber. The system has completely lived up to expectations, and is highly compact and reliable. The MACT requirements were satisfied with ease right from the start and even produced an outstanding rise in separation performance to more than 95%. Not only that, but it is clear that the low pressure losses in the system make it possible to achieve all this with little energy.
And thanks to this environmentally friendly technology, Scheuch is making a real contribution to preventing greenhouse gas emissions – something that has represented an important goal for Langboard since the US Environmental Protection Agency classified CO2 as an extremely harmful pollutant. Langboard MDF emits considerably less CO2 than comparable plants that use regenerative thermal oxidisers.
